I have had literally tens of dozens of watches over decades of time, and only two of them lasted over a year, regardless of cost. One is a digital Casio, now over 10 years old, on its original battery. The other is this watch (only with a different band).

I’ve had more expensive, highly touted brands, and watches, pocket watches, and all kinds of watches, including another Citizen. I even built a watch out of desperation (you can buy movements). Most fail to keep the correct time almost immediately, or else die when the battery gets changed. There must be something about me that causes them to fail; in some cases, they work again after a couple of days in the drawer. My wife bought me a very expensive custom gold pocket watch; I don’t wear it often for obvious reasons, but so far it is ok (I guess gold is inert). Sometimes, the design of the buttons or stem allows them to move and change the watch setting as it sits on your wrist or in your pocket.

I now have poor eyesight, so I have to stare at the chrono portions, but the time is easy to read. It was advertised as titanium, which I guess was an error, as it seems to be chrome bezel and stainless steel back. Normally I get titanium, as my skin reacts with most metals, including many stainless steels. This watch would still pass as almost new; so the crystal and case seem to be good quality.

As others have mentioned, the band is too small (I am 5′ 11″ and have normal size hands and wrists). You could drill another hole in it. Also the metal tab that goes into the band hole is too small, so I had to bend it in order to keep it from backing out of the band hole and coming off my wrist. I was disappointed that there is no light for the dial, but the luminous effect is outstanding on this watch.

Be aware that with any electronic item this complex, there will be a few defective units among the hundreds of thousands made.

The metal bands that come with most of these Eco-Drive watches also leave much to be desired. Bottom line: Get one of these that has a case and face you like, and count on using a replacement band instead of the band that comes with the watch.

bel

So far I’m really enjoying the watch. What drew me towards it was the style-larger numbers, the black face, the price(which is very good) and the brand.i like citizen watches. One thing I would recomend is changing the strap.tHE
strap that it comes with is cheesy and very small.Get a leather one at your local jeweller.Other than that it’s a great watch and i the time keeping is excellent so far. Good luck

Mediocre Watch, like others said, band way too small!

After reading other reviews about the small band, I thought that I should not have a problem because I have a fairly small wrist. I couldn’t even get it in the first hole adjustment. No big deal, I just went to Wal-Mart and purchased one that was almost identical for . Besides that my only other negative review of this watch would be that the larger second hand (the red one) only moves when your using it as a timer and it stops after 60 minutes. I like the overall look when it’s on my wrist and also the fact that you never have to replace the battery. In general I would say it’s a mediocre watch, but I kept it because I know the good reputation of Citizen watches.

great watch, but replace the tiny band

read the reviews that the watch band was small, but I have a small wrist anyway. Got it and was suprised that the watch band barely fit, and was on the last little hole.
Spent another to replace it with a black leather band from a place in the mall, and now it looks pretty awesome. I get lots of comments on it now…Love the watch. Great deal if your willing to replace the band. (a 20mm band will fit)

Great all around watch!

I have been wearing this watch all day everyday. The watch is very durable. The band, that comes with it, is an olive drab and very comfortable and strong. The eye holes, on the band, are spaced wider apart so the fit is not as exact as I would like it. Just took a little while to get used to. The face is wide and the numbers are easy to read. All the smaller hands are fully functional. The red timer hand is great. The timer resets itself after sixty minutes. This watch even has a date readout. All in all this watch is very comparable to more expensive ones. I own an Omega and this watch’s functioning is very similar.

To Citizen: FIX THE WRIST STRAP!

Let’s start by saying this MEN’S watch would get a very solid 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that the wrist strap is more suitable for a WOMAN’S WRIST.

PRO’S:
Looks great!
Feels great!
Keeps time great!
Legible dial is great!

CON’S:
The WRIST STRAP!
The WRIST STRAP!
The WRIST STRAP!

Really, Citizen, if you have any interest in your customer’s, couldn’t you have fixed the WRIST STRAP on this otherwise excellent watch by now??? It’s not like no one has written about this problem yet.

I’m 6’2″ and under 200lbs. This watch suits my frame very well. The watch is proportional on a man’s wrist and would probably look a little out of place if worn by a WOMAN. And yet, the WRIST STRAP is obviously sized for a WOMAN’S WRIST!

I can only wear this strap on the very last notch. Curiously, the notches begin just one inch away from the bezel. This provides excellent adjustment if your wrist is the size of a child’s wrist.

Citizen…are you out there? Anybody home? Hello?

Shopping for Watches ? Your Can Have It

Shopping for Watches ? Your Can Have It

Prior to your shop for your next watch it may be a prudent idea to comprehend how watches are categorized. Watches are usually classified as either quartz watches or mechanised watches. Mechanical watches can subsequently be divided in to automatic watches (automatic winding) with manually wound watches. Mechanised watches consist of entirely mechanical components, thus the name mechanical watches. Mechanical watches don’t use batteries. Quartz watches are battery operated. Quartz watches get their name from the quartz crystal that is in use in the movement.

There are inherent rewards as well as disadvantages with both quartz and mechanical watches. Quartz watches are generally more exact and also less expensive than comparable mechanical watches. However, you do have to replace the battery periodically, which could result in further outlay and inconvenience. Mechanical watches are less accurate. They could be heavier and also usually cost more than similar quartz watches. However, mechanical watches can be seen as more than only timepieces; they are pieces of art. They showcase a watchmaker’s creativity and skill. Even a basic mechanical watch can include greater than 100 parts, compared to just a few dozen in quartz watches. Its is easy to see that it needs a lot more expertise to put together a mechanical watch. Knowing whether you require a quartz watch or a mechanical watch will assist you filter out a large quantity of choices.

Find the best Invicta Watch at our store, best deals online.

Watches could be further divided into different types based on their capabilities or complications. Examples of standard complications are chronograph, perpetual calendar, and moon phase.

Having initially decided on a quartz or mechanical watch and then the sort of complication, you must then consider the materials.

We are the top seller of Citizen Watches online. Don’t miss our selection.

Common watch materials used for watch cases are stainless steel and titanium. Stainless steel and titanium are ideal because they are durable. Though lighter than stainless steel, titanium is a lot stronger. It is however, not as shiny as stainless steel. Titanium can also tend to be dearer than stainless steel.

If you are looking for other top brands at the best prices online, look at our Luminox Watch selection.

There are many watch band materials ranging from stainless steel to eel skin.  If you are active and will be getting the watch wet often, then a metal bracelet or rubber strap for ease of cleaning and maintenance would be most practical. It is not good for any type of leather strap to be placed in water as it can deteriorate the quality of the band.

Learn these fundamentals about watches and you will quickly realize that you can spend less time and can look at more watches, so you are able to find the best one for you and your lifestyle

CTWATCHES carry many brands of watches including Invicta watches, Luminox watches, Citizen Watches, Bulova watches, and more. Mom and the marching band

Mom and the marching band
Citizen Watch Band

So last night was our last marching band rehearsal of the year. And Siri’s last marching rehearsal of her career.

Our regular practice route takes us right past my mom’s apartment building, and she often comes out to watch us as we march back to the high school at the end of rehearsal.

Last night Mr. Kummrow decided we’d stop, turn, and perform for any of the senior citizens that regularly come out to watch and support us.

As we marched past mom’s building, she and a gentleman were sitting outside watching. She arose and approached the band as it passed so she could take some photos of her granddaughter marching in her last rehearsal.

She was surprised when the band stopped, turned and did a full play of the entire routine, just for her. Tears welled in her eyes as she clapped her hands in time and watched our band perform the patriotic music that is so important to the folks of my mom’s generation. Having lived through so many tough times, including depression and war, these patriotic songs mean so much to her. She’s a true American.

I snapped this photo with my phone just as the kids were finishing. Behind her in the green shirt is her granddaughter Siri.
